Hey! Welcome back!
I have Microlocs, I started them with braids and I maintain them by interlocking. We finished installing them on October 13, 2017.
This was my hair a few days before my install.
This was during the install that seemed like it would never end. Bless my cousin Lazina for being the GOAT!!!!!
Here are all 300+ completed starter braidlocs.
The day I figured out how to cornrow was top 10 best days of my life.
Fast forward to now: As you can see here, my hair is doing three different things. I interlock them as they grow out and my braids are still obvious and in tact. My ends have a mind of their own, some of them didn’t want to stay braided so they unraveled into corkscrew curls. My mom thinks my hair is cute but is sad for when it eventually locks up fully. I don’t expect my braid pattern to disappear for another two years.
This is my hair now. It’s growing bigger and longer, I can’t just shove it into my bonnet anymore, it must be braided into two braids now.
- Apple cider vinegar is amazing for my itchy scalp, it doesn’t dry it out at all.
- Suave Naturals shampoo is my favorite.
- Dr. Bronner’s is going to be a staple in my home for the foreseeable future.
- Blow dryer. Who would have thought blow drying my hair would make life easier?
Until next time,
